The 2013 summer season rolls out its schedule with exciting new music mixed with some of our favorite standard warhorses.
July 11 opens the series with Gary Chapman performing works inspired by the dance of the Tango. Stravinky and Piazzolla (joined by Eric Dahlin) are featured. Thanks to a request from one of our avid audience members, we include the Trio in D Minor by Gabriel Fauré.
July 18 continues with an Americana theme. The Harmonia V woodwind quintet is featured with the soothing sounds of Barber's Summer Music. Gary Chapman compliment the program with American composers Aaron Copland, David Amram, and Frederic Rzewski. The full cast of this program joins forces in Lee Hoiby's Sextet for Winds and Piano.
July 25 draws inspiration from Mozart and Brahms with a fine blend of soprano, piano, strings and French horn augmenting the program with music of Hugo Wolf and Richard Strauss.
This promises to be a fantastic season! Hope to see a full house!
